Program Notes:

Harper is a solo piano piece, inspired by one of my favorite characters in Tony Kushner’s, Angels in America. Harper is a valium addict who spends her days hallucinating in her apartment while she waits for her husband to come home from work. Oftentimes throughout the play, she is the only one who can see things clearly for what they are. I tried to have this piece reflect Harper’s mental state as the first part of the play, Millennium Approaches, progresses.
